St. Croix - US Virgin Islands Destination Information
Split up into 4 different areas—Christiansted, the North Shore, the East End, and Frederiksted—the island of St. Croix offers a little bit of everything. The varied terrain includes arid rockiness as well as a verdant rainforest, mango, mahogany, and tree ferns that dot the landscape, while beautifully secluded beaches entice water lovers. Enjoy sandy beaches and explore the Salt River where Christopher Columbus once landed in 1493. Sip a cool cocktail at one of the quaint beachside bars, head to the quaint Danish town of Christiansted for some of the best shopping on the island, hop over for a day of beaches and snorkeling at Buck Island, plus make sure to make the drive out to Point Udall, the easternmost tip of the United States.
St. Croix is the largest of the Virgin Islands and retains an unhurried island atmosphere. Explore the many beaches, old Danish towns or take an excursion to a national park. The average annual temperature range is 75°-84°F.
